TOX-GAME
is a game platform developed as part of the TOX-OER project by Bologna Team.
Slides
The
first component of the page consists in a simple slider located at the top of
the page itself: in other words, it is a sequence of slides, which regards a
specific topic (“Drugs” etc.), the student-player can learn and interact with
them.
Video
In
the second section, students can watch video-lectures held by different
Professors: these videos must be unlocked by playing with the video game and by
interacting with some specific objects within it (such as keys etc.).
Game
TOXGAME
is a 2D platform game. The player will go through several levels and once he
wins one, he/she will be asked to complete and solve a quiz related to the
slides and videos he had previously learned.
The
controls are very easy to understand since they just consist in using the
arrows on the keyboard to move the player both horizontally and vertically. The
player/learner will have to interact in different ways with many objects, so
that he/she can have the possibility to learn and to go into the details of
different topics and to be able to take the quiz at the end of the page.
Welcome/Menu
Page
This
component will consist in a list of topics and the player will be able to
choose the one he/she wants to study. After making his/her choice, player will
be introduced to the related level, and once he/she wins it player will be
provided with some interesting paper concerning that topic.
This
element is still under construction and we have to decide whether to embrace
the idea or not. We are still thinking about a possible story for the game in
order to offer a better experience to the user.
